CBeebies Bedtime Stories featuring A Bit Lost by Chris Haughton

We are delighted to say that A Bit Lost by Chris Haughton was featured on Cbeebies Bedtime Stories this weekend! Read by French-Turkish actor TchĂ©ky Karyo known for his role in the British BBC drama series, The Missing. You can watch the storytime here.

The award-winning debut title from Chris Haughton, A Bit Lost is the heart-warming story of Little Owl – who must be more careful when he is sleeping... Uh-oh! He has fallen from his nest, and with a bump he lands on the ground. Where is his mummy? With the help of his new friend Squirrel, Little Owl sets off in search of her, and meets a sequence of other animals. Yet while one might have his mummy’s big eyes, and another her pointy ears, they are simply not her.

Win the Picture Book of the Month, Goodnight Everyone

From the multi award-winning picture book maker of A Bit Lost, Oh No, George! and Shh! We Have a Plan, comes the ultimate bedtime book.

In this stunningly illustrated bedtime book, perfect for the end of the day, a series of exquisitely coloured cut pages of increasing size introduce woodland families – bears, deer, rabbits and teeny, tiny mice – who are all beginning to feel really ... rather ... tired ... YAWN! "Dear me," says Great Big Bear, "it must be time for bed!" But Little Bear is certainly not sleepy – he's wide awake! (For now...) With sublime, starry night time scenes and an infectious yawny "Good night" refrain, Chris Haughton creates a lulling bedtime read, perfect for parents and children to share together.

"A richly coloured, hypnotic ode to sleep; this perfect starlit bedtime book will have parents yawning dangerously alongside their offspring" Guardian

Chris Haughton and Goodnight Everyone win at CBI Awards

We're very pleased to report that Chris Haughton has been announced as the winner of the Children’s Books Ireland Book of the Year Award for Goodnight Everyone, and was also the recipient of the Honour Award for Illustration for the same title.

The award judges praised ‘Chris Haughton’s vibrant illustrations combine perfectly with deceptively simple narrative in this mesmerising bedtime tale. Chronicling a series of animal yawns, the colour palette gradually darkens as the world of the forest is painted in sunset. Haughton’s use of cut-outs is particularly effective and the star maps in the endpapers add a mystic dimension to this captivating story.’

You can can find all of Chris' excellent picture books at your local bookshop. Goodnight Everyone will be out in paperback in August 2017.
